Notice is hereby given of The Society of Asian Lawyers, Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’). The AGM will be held on 27th March 2014 at 25 Bedford Row, London, WC1R 4HD at 7pm.
If you would like to stand for election for the Committee, you will need to be proposed and seconded by two existing members of the Society of Asian Lawyers. This should be done on the standard form which is also attached (and is available to download via the website) and must be returned to the Secretary, Mr Nick Gova, by email on nick@sethi.co.uk no later than 5pm on Tuesday 25th March 2014. Forms received after this period will not be considered.
A maximum of 12 people can be elected to the Committee under the Constitution. In the event that more than 12 people are nominated for the committee then a democratic hustings will be held where each candidate will be given up to a maximum of 2 minutes to address the meeting on the merits of their candidacy. There will then be a secret ballot in which the first 12 candidates with the highest number of votes will be duly elected.
All members attending will be checked on arrival against a register to confirm that s/he is a valid member. The Secretary, Mr Nick Gova, will retain full discretion in confirming valid membership.
Following the AGM there will be a social evening at a local venue to be notified at the meeting.
